Grasshopper = Belalang!

What do you think about this grasshopper? It does not look like the common grasshopper with big head and eyes. And it's got four legs only!

Did you know that a grasshopper is called a "Belalang" in the Malay language?

Can anyone identify this hopper?

Hi. I found your blog by way of your cockroach post on the Insect Forum at Nature Net. No info on the roach, but I think this might be a female long-headed locust. It does have 6 legs: the 4 smaller legs and 2 big jumping legs, which appear to be folded against the body in your photo.

I always enjoy seeing other people's insect photos, especially from far-away places. (Your flowers are pretty too!)
